Color Match Painting

Color Palette

This is one of the first painting produced from this semesters Painting 1 - ARTZ 221 001. The piece attempts to explore the matching of colors that technically opposite each other. In theory, the color red goes well with green, and blue goes well with orange. This would create a contrasting balance of colors within the Bison, as well as its background. I wanted to create this painting with the idea of  western surrealism. My inspiration was from a book about the history of Bison and their cultural impact on Native American history as well as human history.
